Monday morning I was going through my normal routine of checking email, my Google reader, and Twitter when I saw that JetBlue was offering flights for $10 each way to 10 destinations for Tuesday + Wednesday. Of course I couldn't pass up that opportunity and bought a round-trip to Salt Lake City. So I flew out Tuesday afternoon and back Wednesday on the red-eye. It was definitely the best 30 hrs I've spent in Utah :)
I was able to spend a lot of time with everyone at American Crafts and so happy that my friend Liz joined us for lunch... maybe you've heard of her? ;) I've worked with American Crafts in some capacity for the past five years and if they'll let me, I am willing to work for them FOREVER. Their office is like a second home to me. I love it there. And I swear they are the hardest working designers in the industry... and the best!!!
I also got to sit down and enjoy lunch up at Creating Keepsakes. I'm lucky to have known some of these ladies for so many years as well. We snapped a photo of just a few of us, but I was able to enjoy time with the whole editorial team and these are some of the nicest woman I've ever met.
While I was at CK I was able to chat with the Events team as well... who are also one of the hardest working teams I know. I fully credit the editorial + events team for helping me have the great life that I do. They give me the opportunity to teach and travel around the country and that means so much to me. It was a great trip to see all the people who I've worked to build wonderful relationships with, and who (along with Stephenie at Fiskars) support me and have allowed me to do this as my job. I am a lucky girl.
The real reason for the trip was to see Sarah and Chloe... even though they were here only a few weeks ago. Those two are the glue in my life. They keep me from going insane and jump right in to join me in the insanity when it's called for. Life is always better when we're together and I miss them like crazy when we're not. Chloe snapped these two photos of us being ridiculous... which happens frequently when we're all together.
Now I'm back in NYC for the next ten days and got to enjoy a City Mitten adventure with my friend Amanda tonight. We are eating our way through Williamsburg, Brooklyn and I'm loving every bite.
Tonight we went to Marlow and Sons, which is such a cute little place. The food was delicious, but maybe not quite as good as the amazing Diner next door.
My favorite? The chocolate tart which was really like a pie... chocolate crust, a layer of thick caramel in the middle, then chocolate fudge and sea salt on top. So good. We decided we should probably start sharing desserts instead of always ordering two of the same one... but I'm not so sure I'm a sharing kind of girl ;)
Hope you have a good weekend, everyone!
