I'm back from Scrapfest and happy to be home for the next two weeks... time to enjoy NYC in the fall and catch up with friends. But I had a great weekend at the Mall of America and thanks to all who came to see Studio Calico up in Archiver's! I love that I've been to this event the past five years and get to see the same ladies again + again. Plus I got to play social director and get all my friends to sit down for dinner together one night. This makes me so happy.
We sold a lot of mist over the weekend and wanted to pass along a tip here on the blog that I love sharing when I teach... using Mister Huey's to stamp with! You can easily use them with your stamps instead of an ink pad. Just spray a couple of squirts onto a styrofoam plate or something slick. You can even use the plastic cover that comes over top of your clear stamps. Here are a couple examples that I made today:
I picked up this 7Gypsies Numero set at Archiver's... it's TOO COOL. Lots of uses for the numbers stamps and you get so many stamps in one set. I also used the new Memoir Mister Huey's Plumb Thumb, Custard, Estate Green and Heirloom Blue plus Overdue.
I used Mister Huey's White and stamped onto vellum - you could also do this on a transparency. The three butterflies on white were stamped with Plumb Thumb, Custard, and Orchard. I put Calico Shine on top of the colored butterflies to add some sparkle. And who doesn't love that little "hello friend" stamp from Amy Tangerine?
This Hero Arts music background stamp has been sitting here begging to be used, so I sprayed down Dewey then Bonny Blue then Heirloom Blue to create the blended background. It was so easy - I'm going trying this technique again soon!
All of the Hero Arts and 7Gypsies stamps I used here are 25% off right now! Don't forget that you can use my free shipping code POGHWV at 2Ps for orders over $35 (domestic shipping only) untii September 24th. Now is a great time to get those stamps you've had your eye on! And try some stamping with Mister Huey too.
