As this title suggests, I am currently in Los Angeles. Last Tuesday I flew out to spend a month living, eating, and exploring Southern California. If I ever had to base my location on where the majority of my friends are, it would definitely end up being California. I'm lucky to know a lot of good people in this state and plan on seeing as many as I can in the next four weeks.
For example, on Saturday we met up with Terry, who was one of my best friends at Michigan State. We hadn't seen each other for almost eight years and it was awesome to get to hang out again. Unlike me, Terry is actually using the skills we went to school for... he is currently a producer on the show IRT Deadliest Roads on the History Channel. How cool is that?!!
Terry introduced us to Roscoe's for a tasty brunch of chicken and waffles. If you've never had chicken and waffles together, you're missing out. These were some of the best. Juicy chicken and fluffy waffles.
We rounded out the meal with some delicious mac 'n cheese, candied yams, and corn bread. There was something about the whipped butter here that just made me want to spread it on everything. (Or maybe that's just all butter in general...)
Good meals and good friends. I think I'm going to like it here.
