On Sunday I lost my iPhone. The one that I just bought back in October. From tales that are frequently told, I would guess that about one out of every three New Yorkers has lost a phone with the majority of the stories involving taxis and yes indeed - alochol. Mine involved neither but it doesn't make me feel any less stupid.
The saddest part was that I had over 5000 photos on there. I'd attempted to back up at the end of April so I think I have most of them saved but I lost the whole month of May. Womp womp. So if there's anything that you can take away from reading my blog I hope that it is back-up your freaking photos and get insurance on your phone.
However, bless Instagram (and do I now have to include Mark Zuckerburg on this?!) - I was able to rescue my daily photo a day pics since they're stored in multiple places on the Interwebz. Still keeping up with the photo a day project and loving it. This was the first month in... forever?... has it never happened?... that I've spent every single day in New York City. Zero travel. And it has been pretty great. A month that starts with dinner at Eleven Madison Park has to be pretty cool, right.
Yes, I added in four photos from the month of June because I'm anal like that and needed my row to be nice and full. Day 31 looked lonely hanging out there on the bottom by itself.
