The other day I was looking though my Instagram feed and caught myself thinking "I miss Los Angeles." Well... what brought about my sentimental feelings was actually looking at someone's photos of Umami Burger. Yeah I miss the burger, I have such fond memories.
Possibly the best burger I've ever had... definitely the best eaten while in LA (and we tried a few, including Amy + JC's favorite at Father's Office.) The first time we went I had a truffle burger and just fell head over heels. Truffle cheese and juicy burger. Amazing.
It was the one place that I insisted be my last dinner before coming back to New York, and we were joined by my best friend Kellie + her husband Dikran. The four of us with four delicious burgers plus sides still had room to polish off two ice cream sandwiches... then order one more. It's so good.
I definitely miss this meal. I've heard rumors that Umami Burger is coming to NYC and man, would that be a dream come true. What's your favorite hamburger that you've ever had?

I'll also be teaching here in the city at The Ink Pad on June 9 + 10 and at Scrappy Chic in Livonia, MI on April 29. All the classes will be with new Studio Calico product, so I'm looking forward to these new classes!
