Yesterday I met Alice for a tasty lunch at Peels - which instantly became one of my favorite spaces. With a great menu and a lot of charm, I can see myself becoming a regular there.
We finished off lunch with some mint ice cream and when the server set it down, I was a bit suprised. It was green. Not the soft mint green I'd expected but really green. And it tasted delicious. Not sweet but spearmint. I loved it. I have a couple of friends who have ice cream makers and now I need to see if they can be pursuaded to make me some mint ice cream.
Johnsonville Brats, corn on the cob dripping with butter, lobster rolls, cold Coronas with limes, fresh tomatoes sprinkled with salt, Mojitos, and now spearmint ice cream. Tastes of summer to me.
