If I could eat just one food for the rest of my life, my answer always is (and undoutably will always be) pork. Ham, bacon, ribs, pork buns, pork shoulder, pork sausage, pork belly. Gimme. I have even been known to steal some crispy pig ears off of someone else's plate. Yum.
Which is why Fette Sau BBQ has been on my radar for some time now. This is BBQ at it's finest, my friends... served by the pound onto large trays. With rolls and other great BBQ picnic type sides. Basically it was the mothership calling me home. You walk up to the meat counter and pick out what + how much you'd like. In our case, it was a lot. We weren't shy.
It's a small communal space with a small bar of about six stools and a front yard full of picnic tables. So you literally walk up to the restaurant passing by diners chowing down. This is brilliant because immediately you start drooling before you even get in line. I am drooling right now just thinking about it. And the smell? Heaven. Hog heaven.
The tables are equipped with BBQ sauce and believe me, the crunchy pickles were the perfect compliment. It was a very happy night. Big thumbs up for Fette Sau all around.
