Last year I put together + was so excited to use a little December Daily kit. Then I got really sick for a huge chunk of the month and on some days the most I did was take a shower if I was lucky. Not exactly what my December Daily of My Dreams was made of.
Twenty Thirteen baby! Let's do this, December Daily! I debated what size to use and settled on a 6x8 Sn@p album. Still thinking about a cover or cover page. I'm using my December Project Kit from Simon Says Stamp (for more details see this post) along with some other holiday stamp sets that we've just released.
After seeing Ali's post on her album foundation, I knew I wanted to include a lot of see-through pockets as well. I'm switching up page protector styles and leaving at least one pocket empty for a photo, then will embellish on top of that pocket if needed.
Day One uses my new numbers die with a 3x4 card from the kit. I added in the Tim Holtz rub-ons and number sticker, along with stamps from my Santa's Coming set.
You can see the circles from the die on Day One now on the other side of the page protector in Day Two so I covered the backside with patterned paper from the kit. It also got a rub-on and stickers.
Day Three includes a card from the kit that I added letter stickers and stamps from the kit onto. I die cut some snowflakes with the Simon Marianne die (some of these are included in the kit) and put just a tiny bit of adhesive onto them to make them float in the pocket. I'm already liking this see-through thing we've got going on!
The backside of the snowflakes come through on Day Four and I just embellished a card from the kit with rub-ons and stamps. I'm planning on adding the "four" onto a picture somehow.
December 5th is already marked as the annual trip to go see Santa at Macy's in NYC so I made sure it had some Santa-ness. I used the "All I Want for Christmas is You" card from the kit but added the Santa in letter stickers. The stamps on both cards are from my Santa's Coming set.
I'm going to try to show the pages in batches of fives here (still up in the air to include the whole month or just up until Day 25) but I'm already excited about how it's coming along. I am happy that we went with a neutral paper pad because it doesn't feel like my album is going to scream in your face color and it can easily work with any of the cards in the kit. I've realized that it's very my style - neutral bases with bright pops of color. It's how I dress and now I'm seeing it's how I decorate as well.
So that's the beginning of my album! More to come next week. Kits are shipping this week so I can't see you begin to share yours!
