2012 was hands, feet, and forks down the best year in dining for me. I was incredibly fortunate to have the delicious experiences that I did. From NYC, to Chicago, to LA, to Portland, to Miami, to Europe, to Asia and more... I was lucky to eat some amazing things and dine in some of the best restaurants. I am very, very thankful to friends that I have in the industry who do their part to help keep my belly full and happy. Food, restaurants, and dining out have become such a big part of who I am and it's fun to see where my taste buds lead me.
The first meal of 2013 was brunch in Chicago at the newly opened Carriage House. Southern cooking with dish towels as napkins. Down home in the Windy City.
Brunch to me isn't complete without two things... runny yolk and bacon. I am a sweet, sweet sucker for a runny yolk. And don't even get me started on my bacon. How many times have you seen me Instagram pork products?!
To quote Amanda: "the Carriage House mimosa isn't fooling around" - and neither were any of the other dishes that we tried. Everything was satisfying, flavorful, and delicious. Exactly the way I hope to describe my 2013 at the end of this year.
