For years, I mean yeeeears, I have watched in envy as my friends in Chicago + Wisconsin got together in December for Bakeapalooza. So now that I'm back in the midwest there was no way I was missing out on the event this year. Let's just skip over the fact I don't bake and ahem am not a very good baker and just look at some pretty photos of food, shall we?
Em has a beautiful new house with a beautiful new kitchen and to top it off, she has a beautiful new baby so we all gathered at her place. They plan it so everyone picks out a recipe for the group to make, we split the cost of groceries, and we ended up with five delicious treats to take home.
My friends are all really great cooks and luckily I am really good at reading recipes out loud, so everything turned out amazing. It was so much fun to just hang out, catch up, gossip, make baby Oliver laugh, and sing + dance to Christmas music.
Self-timer shot for the win! There are now three big containers of goodies in my kitchen and I've pledged to only wear stretchy pants for the rest of the year, so it couldn't have been a better Saturday. I want to live every day like it's Bakeapalooza day.
