Gah, we're over halfway through July and I'm in denial that this summer is flying by. But I wanted to share a July reading list before we hit August. Here's what I've been reading:
1. Almost French - I was hesitant to put this one on the list but I have been reading it this month. I made it about 2/3 of the way through and abandoned it. An memoir of an Australian girl who meets a guy and afer spend a few hours talking, she goes to live with him in Paris. Sounds romantic right? Well, the book is not. I got tired of her whining and wasn't convinced that she even liked living in Paris or anyone Parisian at all.
2. Eleanor + Park - Barb brought this for me to read on our road trip and I devoured it on the beach one day. It was so good. I highly recommend you grab this book and hit the beach.
3. Paris to the Moon - a father's account on moving to Paris. I've just started this one and hoping it warms up.
4. A Year in the Merde - a British guy moves to Paris for a year. Sense a trend? I've actually picked this one up on many occasions and am looking forward to digging in.
5. How They Met and Other Stories - I love love love David Levithan's The Lover's Dictionary and after reading Eleanor + Park (and being head over heels for The Fault in Our Stars) I want to dig in to more Young Adult. This is a collection of his short stories and I really enjoy his voice.
What are you reading this month? Please share!
I also wanted to mention that last year's hit, The Phone Photography Project from Big Picture Classes, is now available as a self-paced class. I had the honor of being one of the 31 contributors and really did learn a ton from all their tips + trips for taking phone photos. It's an awesome wealth of info and fun challenges - check out more here!
