I agonized + agonized over the size of my Project Life album for 2015. At first I didn't think I wanted to do one, my creating time is so limited these days. But then I knew I'd be really sad in the future if I ended the year without an (attempted) album. After doing 12x12 last year, I felt the desire to switch it up but looking though my 6x8 albums from 2013 just seemed overwhelming. I had only documented about half the year and ended up with six full albums (including a December Daily.) Lemme tell ya, there is no room in my life for six albums per year.
I have a ton of Becky Higgins Design A 12x12 page protectors left so when I was in Portland with Tina + Jamaica, we pow wow'd and came up with the idea of cutting them down to do a 6x12 size. Jamaica even gave me the idea to cut down one of the American Craft Modern albums that I'd been using. It was a little tricky at first but once I got into it, I freaking loved it. I'll share some spreads here tomorrow. (Edited: 6x12 Design H page protectors are in stock at Amazon here.)
For the cover page I used a woodgrain white cardstock and adhered on three photostrips I'd taken in NYC a couple weeks ago. I think I've got the "eat your armpit + love it" pose down straight. I added on white Elle's Studio stickers and journaling in a gray pen. It's a simple start.
This size really limits what I can put into the album and I'm 100% ok with that. I kind of want to make this the year I stop collecting "stuff." I have bags upon bags of cards, tickets, paper of all sorts that I will never do anything with. It's just too much. So this album will be more focused on photos. I want to put memories into the pockets and not just paper.
I'll be making mini albums like this one and this one and this one for my trips this year. I'm super excited about that part. Some I'll share here but most will go into my Destination Documented workshops.
I've also decided to make monthly photobooks from my Instagrams. I did one for December using Artifact Uprising and I so, so happy to have this.
I used the Artifact Uprising app on my phone which plugs right into your Instagram account and makes it so easy to just add in the photos onto the pages. Perfection. Can't wait to have twelve of these little guys at the end of the year.
So, that's my plan for documenting 2015. It might change but having a plan just makes me feel hugely better and like I'm going to conquer the hell out of this year!
