If you come to New York soon, which you really should because New York in the spring is truly delightful, you must see Once the Musical. I can't gush enough. It's based on the movie Once, which was wonderful in its own right, but the show is purely charming with amazing talent. The soundtrack was on my favorite things list and I still have been listening to it non-stop.
I first heard about Once from a friend who told me that as soon as he saw it he went home and bought tickets to go again. When I saw it I had the exact same urge... as well as crying through the entire final song which I'm certain he did too and just forgot to mention that part to me.
He also forget to mention what a dreamboat Steve Kazee is but I'll forgive him. Someday. Take a look and fall in love...
One more cool thing about the show is that the set is a live bar before the performance starts and during intermission... you can pony on up and order a drink. Sarah and I went down and stood on the stage with an up close + personal view of the musicians and a larger than life view of the rest of the theater. It added one more layer of magic onto an enjoyable night that I am anxious to repeat. Again and again.
