This has been sitting in my drafts for two weeks now because I had a process video for the spread that I really wanted to post along with the photos. Unfortunately it was an hour + twenty minutes long and iMovie kept crashing every time I tried to edit it. I kept trying every trick in the book, thinking if I just let iMovie calm down for a day or two, I could try again and we'd be good to go, but no such luck. Ah well, next spread!
So here is a look at how I put my April trip to Paris into my Project Life album. I'll eventually document this trip in other ways, especially using the memorabilia I saved, but I wanted to add it to this album as well. I ended up with four + a half spreads. The photos were printed through Persnickety Prints and I did the 6x12 full sheets by putting two together on one 12x12 in Photoshop. The photos of the photos in the pockets don't do the prints justice, the colors are more crisp and vibrant. Persnickety does a great job!
All of the cards come from the Ready... Jet Set kit that Christine Herrin designed for my shop earlier this year. The kit sold out quickly (like all of hers do - she's so talented) but you can purchase the digital versions in her own shop right here. I also made good use out of the stamp set from the Love Lists kit in my shop. It's a surprisingly good one for travel documenting.
Here's a look at my pages:
I had the photos printed glossy and they really are super slick. When stamping directly on them, I used the Memento Moonlight White ink which dries fairly quickly and doesn't smear.
The spread above is definitely my favorite of all. I snapped a lot of door shots (how can you not in Paris, right?) at my favorite places and I trimmed down a Studio Calico 9x12 page protector so that I had two columns of 3x4 photos. I like seeing the photos of the doors all together on one page and made a mental note to take more photos like this in the future to make an even bigger spread.
I ended up adding one more 6x12 next to this last solo page and it completed the set of spreads nicely, I'll be sure to post a look at that one soon.
All of the photos minus one were taken on my iPhone. It really is the easiest camera to travel with and the prints really do come out nicely. I used the VSCO app and presets that I mentioned in this post and went through my usual process to edit the photos, which I explain in this easy tutorial.
My love for Paris runs deep + wide and I am so happy to have these photos and memories in my Project Life album. Ah, I can almost taste that camembert now...
