Video: A Look at the Letterpress Cards in the June + July Project Kit

Last week I spent most of a day making a video showing all the contents of the June + July Project Kit and talking about the kit.  Then it wouldn't upload to my computer. So then today I thought I'd just do a short and sweet one about my favorite part, the letterpress cards. And YouTube gave me trouble with a capital T.  Let's just say that for someone who received a BA in media arts + videojournalism, I better get myself schooled on this video stuff.

But here's the (somewhat blurry) video on the cards because I would like you to see the ombre effect we've done. I love it very much.

When I got back from Hawaii, people would ask me how the trip was and I'd say "good!"  Then they would ask me what we did... and I'd have to think about it for a bit. 

What did we do?  Well.  We ate.

We had a lot of amazing food.  We lounged by the pool.  We went for a drive.  We scrapped and watched the SuperBowl.  No surfing or hiking or helicopter rides or Dole pineapple plant.  But really... it was a perfect first Hawaiian vacation.

I first learned about flip cams and iMovie and making my own little videos from JC + Amy's visit to NYC almost two years ago.  So it seems fitting that I got to make one of the three of us on vacation in Hawaii.

I adore doing these videos.  The video isn't always the best (I seem to have far from a steady hand when filming!) and sometimes the clips are quite random.  But they just help memories come back to me in a great way that photos don't.  They make me happy.

I posted this over on the SC blog but wanted to share here as well...

During CHA we surprised Nik for her birthday by going out to Lucky Strike one night.  It was a blast.  I took video on my little P+S camera and put together this video while waiting in the airport:

I love being part of the team at Studio Calico and it was truly a treat getting to hang out so much in LA.  It's hard sometimes to get to know people online and I'm thankful for this real face time. 

Also, I was reading the comments left on the SC blog and my favorite ones were the ones that said "hey, you're real people!"  The online world is such a funny, funny thing.  Y'all know that we are top notch professionals over at SC... but I think this shows that the team sure does enjoy a good party, loves to laugh, and has some awesome dance moves.

Yes, I Roger Rabbit'd.
