Reposting this from my blog that I deleted so that it is housed here. Apologies if it's a repeat read for you.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that a couple weeks ago some friends and I went to stay at the wonderful Camp Wandawega. I have been dreaming about coming to Camp all my life (well, the past two years that I've known about it but it's felt like forever!) and was over the moon about the opportunity to get there. We went on the very last day of camp, as they were closing it up for the winter. But that meant we had the entire place to ourselves and we spent some time completely enjoying the place. And let me just say, this is one of the best places on Earth.
Located in Wisconsin about two hours away from Chicago, Camp Wandawega opened in the 1920's and is now owned by a cool couple from Chicago who have kept it in the most amazing shape. You feel like you're in a time warp. Everything is perfectly in its place, with incredible details everywhere. And I am an absolute sucker for these kinds of details. It's warm and charming and the most photogenic place ever.
As usual, we ended up spending most of time hanging out in the kitchen (isn't that always the case) just chatting, Instagraming, and looking through photos. The light in there was beautiful in the morning and there's a big dining room with a large table for people to gather around. I want to bring everyone I love right here.
There are a variety of places you can stay at camp including the cutest cabin we stayed in, a huge main lodge, and even some tents pitched in the woods for when it's a lot warmer than November. All filled with fantastic vintage items and cozy touches.
In the middle of Camp there's also a giant treehouse that you can sleep in. It's kind of amazing. The treehouse deserves a post all its own, so stay tuned for Part Two. You can see a lot more photos of Camp Wandawega on my Instagram account and from my friends Alina + Steven under the hashtag #WandawegaWinter. I hope you'll check them out but be warned that you'll immediately want to come to Camp so you better start planning your trip for next summer.
Please note: accommodations for our stay were provided by Camp Wandawega but all opinions and enthusiasm is my own.
