I was maybe a little over zealous in documenting our Seattle trip. There are a few hundred photos to go through. So I thought I'd do two posts - what we did and what we ate. The food photos might outnumber the others. Seattle is one of my favorite cities... I'd thought seriously - and maybe still do - about living here.
I am madly obsessed with the Ace Hotels and the one on Seattle was perfect. Great price and location. The bed was like sleeping on a giant puffy cloud. That was the one thing I would have chosen to take home as a souvenir.
The weather when we arrived was amazing - lots of sun and blue skies. It was a really lovely change for both of us who were missing autumn... lots of colored leaves and crisp weather. We went to the top of the space needle to watch the sunset.
We had a nice walk up to Capitol Hill and back for dinner. Good to be in a walkable city again and stretch our legs.
It was a little bit drizzly on our second day but we headed to Pike Place Market for some flying fish and clam chowda. Later in the evening we went back to the market for the Ghost Tour in the Market, which both of us really enjoyed. It was heavy on the history and lighter on the spooky... which is all my scared-y cat self can handle.
Our last day we only had about half a day to explore and the last thing I really wanted to do was take a ferry ride. It was really rainy and cold that day, so we chose wisely by staying warm inside the commuter ferry that runs between Seattle and Bainbridge. It was really beautiful over in Bainbridge with lots of gorgeous colored trees. Then one last big meal (plus some coffee + doughnuts - YES Top Pot!!!) and we were off back to Los Angeles.
We had a really, really great trip. Seattle, you may try to rain on my parade, but man - I love you.
