I didn't take many photos on our trip to Costa Rica but any I took just couldn't capture how beautiful it was. I thought I would share a few snapshots in two posts - beaches and then rain forrest. Here we go...
Our first stop was Punta Islita, which was a gorgeous resort on the beach. We spent a lot of time in the infinity pool and an afternoon down on the beach. Hammocks on the beach might just be my new favorite thing. Our patio also had a hammock with a great view of the mountains and the ocean. Basically, it was paradise (with two swim up bars!)
The beach we were at was definitely rocky instead of sandy and the waves were huge. Ginormous. It was fun to see the surfers out in the water and watch them try to get up on their boards.
The very last stop on our trip were some beaches right outside Liberia, which was the airport we flew into/out of. They were gorgeous but felt very much like you were at a lake. These beaches were sandy but there was no shade, so it was too hot to lay on the beach. Locals sat in their chairs back in the shade under the palm trees.
We are all smiling very big in this photo. I think when you spend a week in paradise you not only get a great tan but also a perma-grin.
