My friends at Hero Arts have the new June My Monthly Hero kit up for sale today and I wanted to share a quick look at it with you as part of their Blog Hop! The kit is travel themed which I know you're going to love. Here's a look at what's included in the kit:
The kit contains: a luggage tag die (die size 8 1/4" x 2 5/8", finished tag 4 1/8" x 2 5/8"), seven accessory dies (heart, camera, sunglasses, sunshine, geotag, suitcase, airplane), a 4x6 clear stamp set, two half sheets of Sizzix tan Paper Leather, three geotag clips, airmail stripe washi tape, journal, three map hearts, airmail twine, and clear tag holders. I love the naked journal ready for stamping up and embellishing. You can never have too many notebooks, am I right?
I was short on creative time this month but I couldn't resist jumping in and playing with the kit myself. It comes with some awesome dies to cut out shapes and I made a little foldover tag along with a plain white one to tie together. They're ready for attaching to the front of a card or a gift.
For the main tag I cut the base out of patterned paper, then stamped the airplanes onto a little bit of white cardstock. I wanted to create a second layer of stamping but still allow the airplanes underneath to be seen so I stamped onto vellum and sandwiched it between the top and bottom of the base tag.
I pair the stamps with my Clearly Kelly Outdoor inks, Coffee & Donuts inks, and Fashion inks. They're pretty juicy inks, so I had a little bit of slip 'n slide when I was stamping on the vellum but that could easily be heat set for fast drying. There's also a brand new Hero Arts Luggage Tag alpha stamp set available sized to match the die + kit.
Hope you'll check out the kit on the Hero Arts website and keep checking out how the other designers used it on the Blog Hop. Next up is my friend Amy Tan and see a list of all the blog here! They are also giving away a free kit - just leave a comment here and they'll pick a winner from all the comments across the blog hop. Thanks so much for stopping by.
