2017 Spring Clearly Kelly Release from Hero Arts

The new year is now well underway and my resolution to update my blog more is going... welllllll, here we are. But I have great news to share in my first post of 2017 and with this I know it's going to be an awesome year. I'm excited to be adding to my partnership with Hero Arts, who remains one of the best companies to work with. I'm really lucky to be part of their program as they continue to knock things out of the part with each release.

For the new Clearly Kelly stamps, I wanted to go back to the 3x4 format that we started with two years ago. There are five new stamp sets that will be perfect for your Project Life, Traveler's Notebooks, planners, and all ways that you're documenting this year. Here's a look at the new sets:

The alphabet is a tinier take on the popular Dalton and I'm already obsessed with the days of the week set.

Announcing Sketchbook 2014

After many, many requests I've worked with Studio Calico to bring my popular Sketchbook class back. This is the fifth installment of the class and I'm super excited to be putting another one together. It's going to be the best yet!

Studio Calico Color Theory Inks

I'm working on some upcoming projects for Studio Calico and last week I got the chance to play with their new Color Theory ink pads. When I find a good ink pad, I want it in all of the colors and the Color Theory ones come in the most beautiful colors. I like that their palette is bright and trendy.

I created this layout just for fun (while binge watching episodes of Scandal - whoa mama, I'm addicted now!) using the new inks:

I picked up this Heidi Swapp paper at Paper Tales in San Diego and I thought it'd be great for a birthday layout. The inks I used here are Emerald City, Coral Bay, Mint Hint, and Clean Slate. At the top of my wish list for inks is that they stamp directly onto photos without smearing. The Color Theory inks definitely do (YES) but I did notice they stamp slightly darker than when on cardstock.

I really love how vibrant they are! Glad to have these great new inks in my stash. Don't forget to check out my post with All Ready Memories awesome ink storage as well.

2014 Project Life: Title Page + First Spread

Finally getting around to sharing my title page for my 2014 Project Life album. I decided to switch to the BasicGrey Capture album because I really wanted square pockets. 95% of my photos these days are taken with the square in mind for Instagram. Truthfully, I am still agonizing over where I should be using the Becky Higgins Design A again because I really love how that size looks. I may still switch, don't be surprised.

I want to keep my album really clean and simple this year. More photos, less filler. Here's my title page:

I used this quote and this as inspiration. Loving the squares. The numbers were done with my What's Your Number stamp set.

Here's my first spread, which really only covers a few days. The weekly spreads are hard for me, which is why I wanted to stick with the smaller size and randomly fill the pockets.

This was the perfect opportunity to use my Game Day stamp set with the Friday Night Lights quote. And I created a card for the bottom right with the stamps to record my Spartans winning the Rose Bowl. Woohoo!

It might be all the snow that we're blanketed under but right now I am loving a lot of white and white space. I wanted the spread to be pretty white and neutral.

For the top corner card I cut up a piece of used white numbers sticker sheet. Again, really simple so I can streamline the process and not get too far behind. That is my goal. Not too far behind.

December Daily: Days 12-21

Got caught up on my December Daily and loving the album. There are some days that nothing much has really gone on, so they get filled in with Snapchats or simple photos. I like that. It's going to be great to look back on. Still using up my Kelly Purkey December Project Kit and having so many supplies left over.

Here's a look at the second half of my album:

I'm still making liberal use of the Attach-Me stickers. Since my big photo printer is down and I'm only using the Selphy, the Attach-Me's are the perfect way to add in extra 4x6 photos on days I want extras. Love them.

I'm so happy that when I pre-made the album I included little see-through parts. Like in this spread, it makes me smile that I can see Em + Baby O behind the reindeer head. Fun stuff, these little peekaboo parts. Going to remember to do that in my 2014 Project Life album.

It's been a calm + quiet second half of December but one that has been very fun and just how I want it to go. Time at home and great times with friends. A lot to be grateful for. Hope your month has been filled with the same!
